Esta todo el mundo cordialmente invitado al "Curso introductorio a los jeroglíficos egipcios" en el Museo Nacional de las Culturas todos los sábados de 10 a.m. a 1 p.m. a partir del próximo 17 de Marzo.
Si bien no es de ninguna manera el primer curso sobre la escritura del antiguo Egipto que se imparte en México creo que es una buena opción para que mucha gente interesada pueda acceder más fácilmente a este tipo de conocimiento ya que este es un espacio que esta abierto a todo público.
En este sentido solo quiero aclarar que yo hubiera preferido un titulo más decimonónico como: "Una pequeña aproximación introductoria a los rudimentos de la escritura del Egipto Faraónico" ya que de ninguna manera considero ser "el especialista" en gramática del antiguo Egipto, lo único que soy es un arqueólogo mexicano de nacimiento (pero egiptólogo de corazón) que siempre a tenido la inquietud de conocer un poco más a fondo esta milenaria cultura y que en mi desarrollo profesional se me han presentado algunas oportunidades para estudiar esta área. Solo me atreveré a llamarme "egiptólogo" en un futuro (espero no muy lejano) hasta que estudie un doctorado en egiptología. De todas formas, si existe publico interesado, me dará mucho gusto compartir los pocos conocimientos que pueda tener.
De manera especial quiero externar mi eterno agradecimiento a mis maestros de epigrafía egipcia José Ramón Perez-Accino Picatoste del Birkbeck Collage of London y de epigrafía maya Erik Velásquez Garcia del Instituto de Investigaciones Estéticas de la UNAM. Espero poder transmitir, así como ellos me transmitieron a mí, el cariño y cuidado necesarios para descifrar antiguos sistemas de escritura y poner en práctica algunos de sus excelentes métodos de enseñanza.
Como último punto quiero dedicar este curso a quien también considero mi maestro el ahora -Osiris justificado- Jorge Canseco Vincourt, curador de las salas de Egipto y Mesopotamia. Creo que le hubiera gustado que se hicieran este tipo de eventos precisamente en el Museo que el ayudó a crear con tanto interés.
